Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
CO2 laser tubes are the most common type of laser tube used in laser cutting and engraving machines. They work by exciting carbon dioxide molecules with a high-voltage electric current (for DC excited) or with radio frequency (for RF excited…), which causes the molecules to emit photons
There are two main CO2 laser types used in small to medium size laser machines. These are commonly referred to as DC (or ‘glass’ tubes) and RF (also called ‘metal’ or ‘ceramic’ lasers).
- An RF laser source can produce an unfocused beam diameter of around 2.5 to 3mm. This results in a slightly finer laser beam and a marginal accuracy increase once focused. But, the difference is negligible. A CO2 Glass laser source will produce an unfocused beam diameter of around 3.5mm-4.5mm
- RF Laser source has life span of 20000+ hours whereas Glass Tube source has 2500+ Hours
- RF Laser source adopts Air Cooling which can ensure long-term trouble-free and stable operation whereas Glass tube laser source adopts water cooling. Few High power RF Laser tube also comes with Water cooling facility.
- RF Laser source use low voltage power supply in comparison with Glass tube laser source.
- RF laser source are expensive than glass tube source
RF Laser Source comes with three wavelengths 10.6um, 10.2um and 9.3um
Every material comes with a different absorption surface, different wavelengths result different results.
10.6um laser source produces melting edges with debur, 9.3um produces a clean edge with less melting edges and debur and 10.2um produces better results then both wavelengths specially on glossy and polypropylene films.
48V 12Amp generally suggested for 30W laser whereas 48V 22AMP for 60W
Carbon dioxide laser skin resurfacing is a technique effective for both cosmetic and medical applications. It is an excellent modality for treating and preventing wrinkles and skin laxity that occur with photoaging. It is also effective in the treatment and prevention of keratinocyte skin cancers.
CO2 laser therapy is highly recommended for severely sun-damaged skin, the symptoms of which include the following: Fine and coarse wrinkles. Dyspigmentation and other forms of skin discoloration. Spider veins.
Blow the lens surface obliquely with balloon. If the above no effect, user needs to remove the lens and use a cotton ball with a little alcohol to rotate the lens. No need too much alcohol, but the glue layer of the adhesive lens cannot be touched in case of gas inside escaping. The laser cannot be used till alcohol evaporating
The output must be covered with a dust-proof plastic wrap; The storage temperature should be kept between 2-40°C and the humidity between 10-60%.
The advantages of RF lasers are long life, high power, low thermal effect, fast cutting speed and good cutting effect.
